GLEE Pianist Brad Ellis

Brad Ellis, best known as Brad the Pianist on Fox TV’s GLEE, will discuss his work as a composer, arranger, orchestrator, and music director in television, film, musical theater, and cabaret, as well as his experience on GLEE.
BRAD ELLIS is best known as Brad the Pianist on Fox TV’s GLEE. Other TV: GILMORE GIRLS, GIRLS NEXT DOOR, OPRAH, THE VIEW, THE MIDDLE, CLOSE TO HOME, INSTANT BEAUTY PAGEANT, THE GLEE PROJECT on Oxygen (currently shooting), and THE 2009 ACADEMY AWARDS with Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, with whom he collaborated on the opening number, and received an Emmy certificate. Film: CHICAGO, DELOVELY, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Brad has conducted and performed in over 6,000 performances of more than 400 different musicals in NY, LA and internationally. He orchestrates for the LA Phil, the Hollywood Bowl and the Philadelphia Orchestras, and has made music with Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Scarlett Johansson, Scott Bakula, Jason Alexander, Brent Spiner, Peter Nero, John Lithgow, Patti LuPone, Angela Lansbury and Kristin Chenoweth. In Los Angeles, he’s conducted RAGTIME at the Shubert, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at SBCLO, and FLORA THE RED MENACE and MAN OF LA MANCHA at Reprise, among others. He’s written original music and lyrics for off-Broadway shows including PLAID TIDINGS: CHRISTMAS WITH FOREVER PLAID (over 160 productions so far), THE TRUTH ABOUT RUTH, JEKYLL IN CHAMBER, and TIN PAN ALLEY RAG, a 2009 hit for the Roundabout. He’s been the leader on 35 albums for RCA, DRG and Varese Sarabande, including three jazz discs with THE BRAD ELLIS LITTLE BIG BAND. In the last few months, he’s been profiled by CNN, NPR, People Magazine and The Boston Globe.
