Dennis H. Miller, Professor of Music at Northeastern University, will have two new visual works appear on the 80-foot screen in front of the Massachusetts Convention Center in late October as part of the “Art on the Marquee” project. The marquee offers more than 3,000 square feet of display area on seven screens, providing full-motion video capability and is viewed by more than 10,000 pedestrians and motorists daily. The new works will join six other videos that Miller has produced on commission for the project.
Professor Miller has had other recent screenings of his works including a video entitled 1925 that was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the moving image, and presentations of his piece, White Noise at the Feria de Arte Sonoro/Puerto Rico and at a concert of new media at Montana State University. He also gave a talk on his work, curated a concert and had his own work screened at a conference entitled Understanding Visual Music in Buenos Aries this summer.
