April 2-8, 2012
The third annual Together festival is upon us and ready to take Boston and Cambridge by storm with a week-long celebration of music, art and technology beginning Monday April 2nd through Sunday April 8th.
Together has quickly established itself as a taste-making event with the myriad of daytime events including: production seminars from Dubspot, Ableton, Steinberg, and iZotope as well as a record fair, art exhibitions and various panels and discussions. The entire daytime schedule complements an equally impressive nighttime lineup of premiere electronic music artists including: Nero (live), Photek, Oneohtrix Point Never, RJD2, Starkey, Phill Niblock, Break Science and beyond.
Professors of Northeastern University will be joining this year’s evolutionary conversation as panelists for the daytime discussions. Together welcomes: David Herlihy, Professor of Music Industry and professional of entertainment law, who will be sitting on the “Patently Stupid” panel on copyright law (Wednesday April 4th at 12pm), Terrence Masson, Director of the Creative Industries Program, who will be sitting on the “New Canvas” panel on new media (Thursday April 5th at 3:30pm) and Dennis Miller, Professor of Music, who will also be sitting on the “New Canvas” panel.
Northeastern’s involvement does not stop there however. About half of the Together team is a current student or graduate of NU. This year’sTogether/NU team is comprised of: Gareth Middlebrook (Director of Operations), Coleman Goughary (Director of Business Development), Robby Grodin (Daytime Coordinator/ Hack Together), Corina Hernandez (Documentation), Julie Vera (Media Analytics), Ryan Durkin (DJ/Producer Competition Coordinator), Jonathan Baruc (Partnership Coordinator and Booking), Matt Rohr (Compilation Mixer), Erin Cheek (Get Together Coordinator), Joseph Yuen (Intern), Max Von Cannon (Film Crew), Andrew Zenn (Film Crew), Mary Alexandra (Film Crew), Jason Bergman (Photoprapher) and Steven Ford (Red Bull Music Academy student Rep/Dubco).
