At the X AVANT Festival on October 20,2011, Musicworks – Canada’s award-winning experimental music magazine – will announce and feature the six winners of its inaugural Writing and Electronic Music Composition Contest. Featured tonight will be the 3 compositions and 3 written sound journals that made it to the top of this year’s competition. Winners will receive one of 6 prizes, including an iPad, e-reader, AKG headphones and Ableton Live. Award presentation will be by contest sponsor The Canadian League of Composers. NU Music Technology graduate Ian Battenfield Headley has been shortlisted as a winner in this year’s MusicWorks Composition Contest.
