Dennis Miller, Professor of Music, will have a number of his works screened in New York City this August as part of the Big Screen Project. The screening venue is a new 30 x 16 ft HD-format LED screen that is part of a 10,000 square foot multimedia complex on 6th Avenue. Information about Miller’s work may be found at http://softwareandart.com/?p=679, and a description of the Big Screen Project is available at http://bigscreenplaza.com/about. The screening was curated by the New York-based artist collective Leaders in Software.

There he will give a talk on and curate a concert of new animations selected from Northeastern’s Visual Music Special Collection, which is hosted by the NU Libraries. In addition, Miller’s piece White Noise will be performed. He will also attend the Studio 300 festival at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY in September, where White Noise will again be presented, and he will travel to Morelia, Mexico in October to curate a presentation of Visual Music works. His mixed media work Circles and Rounds is currently screening at Atlantic Wharf as part of the Fluid Perimeters project.
