Steve DalySteve Daly, BA ’88, is an associate director of communications in the Office of Alumni Relations at Northeastern University. Before joining the staff at Northeastern, he had a 20-year career as a sportswriter for The Portsmouth Hearld, The Telegraph of Nashua and the Lowell Sun, where he did his co-op. Daly is the author of “Dem Little Bums The Nashua Dodgers,” a story about a Minor league baseball team in Nashua, N.H., that played an important role in the integration of baseball. Dan Peleschuk ’09, is a freelance journalist based in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he has covered post-Soviet politics, most notably on Russian-Ukrainian relations. His reporting has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor, Russia Profile and World Politics Review, among others. In the fall, he will return to the University of Toronto to finish his M.A. in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs, after which he plans to return to Russia to continue reporting.

Gary Somerset ’94, is the Media and Public Relations Manager at the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. He is the spokesperson and in charge of PR for this federal government agency. After graduating from Northeastern, he spent about 13 years in television news as an anchor/reporter.

John Guilfoil, ’07, is the Deputy Press Secretary to Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino. Before joining the mayor’s staff in 2012, he was a general assignment reporter for The Boston Globe. Guilfoil is the owner/editor of “Blast Magazine,” an online magazine he founded in 2007. He is an adjunct professor at Newbury College in Brookline, MA, where he teaches courses on media law, ethics, public relations, and news writing.
