Power soccer club, Boston Brakers, lacks funds but not enthusiasm

The soccer players are in power wheelchairs but other than that, the game is just like any other soccer game, reports Mike Anderson, a student in Lisa Chedekel’s Reporting for “Your Town” class.  The story, “Despite funding lag, love of competition fuels power soccer club,” was published March 14 in the Roxbury edition of Boston.com’s “Your Town.”  The club, the Boston Brakers, play at the Tobin Community Center in Mission Hill.  While the spirit of competition is robust the team founder, James Wise, director of disability services at Wellesley College, said the team lacks funding and public awareness.
