Hibakusha: Our Life to Live
Conversation with director David Rothhauser
Inspired by John Hersey’s Hiroshima, the director traveled to Japan to conduct interviews with Japanese, Korean, and American survivors of the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The narrative is framed through the contemporary story of a friendship between an eight- year-old girl and her guitar teacher Eiji Nakanishi, a hibakusha (atomic bomb survivor).
