Beyond CAMD” brings engaged alumni to campus to share with students their industry knowledge and field experience, and to give students advice on how to be successful in their endeavors after graduating from the College of Arts, Media and Design. Students, faculty, staff, and friends are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Erin Traudt (Communication Studies ’01) – Senior Marketing Manager of Customer References at Amazon.com, Inc – discusses her educational, intellectual, and professional pursuits with CAMD students. Her experience in marketing and industry analysis, and expertise in social media, collaborative applications, strategy, content development, market research, and market sizing will be of particular interest to students in studying communications, business, and marketing.

Biography
Erin Traudt graduated from Northeastern University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and Graphic Design. During her time at Northeastern, Erin completed co-ops as a Marketing Coordinator then Partner Program Coordinator at Sybase, Inc. The experience launched her career as a marketing professional and industry analyst, which has since led her to a role as a global marketing program manager at Amazon.

After graduation, Erin started out as a marketing specialist at International Data Corporation (IDC), where she crafted targeted messages to IT audiences relating to software market research. Over time, she parlayed her marketing ability into a position as senior analyst, where she transformed complex market trends into actionable business insights for her clients. While there, Erin won the IDC Software Analyst Rookie of the Year Award (2006). In 2008, Erin went to salesforce.com to manage the analyst relations (AR) practice for the company’s Force.com platform, as well as channel and alliance initiatives. At salesforce.com, Erin helped develop a global AR program designed to build strategic relationships with key industry analysts.

In 2010, she returned to IDC to take up a position as research director, earning the prestigious IDC Research Quality Award (2011) for her in-depth coverage of the SaaS delivery model, forecasts of SaaS market opportunities, and trend monitoring. With a decade of experience in the SaaS arena, she made a name for herself as a leader in the field, speaking at industry events and adding her voice to industry and business press. The experience led her to her current position as senior marketing manager of customer references at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she is responsible for customer engagement on the global marketing team. Under Erin’s direction, her team of 6 creates customer references and videos for AWS users all over the world. She also runs the AWS social media effort and manages the Customer Advisory Board.
