Academic Advising

The Communication Studies Department uses a layered advising scheme. All students enter with an academic advisor assigned by the College of Arts, Media and Design, who they continue to meet with throughout their time at Northeastern. During the sophomore year, majors begin working with a co-op advisor to find a placement. Most majors finish their time at Northeastern being advised by a faculty member in their area of interest.

Academic Advisors

Academic Advisors can help answer questions about the college core curriculum and graduation requirements. Academic advisors also are available to assist with scheduling and registration questions and concerns, dropping or withdrawing from classes, leaves of absence for personal or medical reasons, or other academic issues. Students are assigned an Academic Advisor in accordance with their last name:
