While watching TV personality Bethenny Frankel speak at the “Skinnygirl Night Our Tour,” which came to campus last year, Long Island native Perry Acks, AMD’13, immediately knew he wanted to call the former reality star and celebrity entrepreneur “boss.” And after a diligent Twitter campaign, he was able to do just that. “It became my dream job to work for her,” Acks said. “After tweeting her for months I got a job working on her talk show and started right after graduation.”
The show, bethenny, is slated to premier on September 9, joining the pantheon of daytime TV talk shows currently seeing enormous audience draw, including the highly-acclaimed, long-running Ellen Degeneres Show and Comm Studies alum Wendy Williams‘ Emmy Award-winning The Wendy Williams Show.
Acks, who has been spending his time on the job pitching show ideas and booking guests for Frankel to interview, was captured on video on day 2 meeting his new boss and idol and reveling in the success of turning a dream into a reality. Check it out in the clip below:
