Blue tape covered her mouth. She was surrounded by other Northeastern University students similarly silenced. Voiceless, 2008 Silver Lake High School graduate Devin Rebello rallied outside the State House in solidarity with the state’s foster children facing an uncertain future.
The Beacon Hill rally was organized by students in service-learning courses at Northeastern, including Rebello’s Advocacy Workshop, taught by communication studies professor Greg Goodale. It highlighted imperfections in the foster care system and the push to address them through new legislation.
Rebello is following a series of paths in her effort to make a difference through meaningful change in any way she can, one task at a time.
