Photo Basics and Cuban History
A four-week hands on entry level digital photography class open to majors and non-majors in this class concentrates on digital camera usage, camera optics and current photographic digital software. Assignments range from demonstrating technically proficiency to longer term conceptually based projects. A final project exhibiting proficiency in digital photography and visual concepts is required.
A four-week lecture and field study class for students enrolled in Photo-Basics for Non Majors or Documentary Photography. This class will focus on the cultural history of Cuba, particular attention will be paid to the visual arts, music and architecture. Class visits to local studios, walking architectural lectures and musical performance will be an integral part of the class. Students will be required to pick and specific area of research that is covered in class that will culminate in a written thesis.
