Posting a Short-term Project

If your organization has an immediate need for design (website, logo, marketing collateral), please contact our co-op coordinator, who can publicize the opportunity to design and interactive media students. Students often seek to build their portfolios and may be interested in working with you.

Posting a Co-op Position

Our co-op partners provide paid full-time employment to students for a six-month period (January-June, July-December). If a company is unable to compensate a student, then the student has the option of working part-time and supporting her/himself with an additional paying job. The student should be undertaking substantive, meaningful projects and working with a supervisor who serves in a mentoring capacity.

The hiring process is straightforward. The employer posts a job description (with details about duties, desired qualifications, travel logistics, and pay – see sample description below) on our website. After the position has been open for a few weeks, the resumes of interested students are sent to the employer. At that point, the employer connects with the most promising candidates, conducts interviews, and makes an offer if a student is found to be a fit. The employer fills out a mid-point and final performance evaluation that is shared with the student and the co-op coordinator.

Employers can create a profile and job description here (by selecting the College of Arts, Media and Design in the drop-down menu).

Employers can find some general information about the co-op program here, and learn about our department’s academic program here.
