Work of Sarah Kanouse, Interdisciplinary Art faculty is on view at Proof Gallery. The gallery is managed by Kara Braciale and Julia Hetchman, Fundamentals faculty.
Sarah Kanouse is exhibiting ephemera from the National Toxic Land and Labor Conservation Service, a “wishful” federal agency she co-directs with Georgetown University geographer Shiloh Krupar. The National TLC Service, as it is called for short, creates cultural programs to commemorate and interpret the ongoing environmental impacts of the nuclear weapons complex. Kanouse has recently joined Northeastern University to lead the new degree MFA in Interdisciplinary Art.
Proof Gallery’s program, now in it’s ninth iteration, entails three Boston-based artists each inviting another artist, with whom they share interests, to exhibit work alongside for Proof’s annual Boston Does Boston. The resulting exhibition displays a wide range of styles and materials, highlighting the diversity of the Boston arts community.
