Admissions

Applicants wishing to pursue one of our undergraduate programs should visit Northeastern Undergraduate Admissions.

Department of Art + Design strongly recommends submission of a portfolio with your application for admission to Art, Digital Art, Graphic Design and combined programs. Applicants for the Studio Art program (in collaboration with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) must submit a portfolio in order to be considered for admission. Applicants without portfolios are also encouraged to apply and may be accepted into the department. The portfolio policy for students transferring from other schools is the same as for incoming freshmen: portfolios are strongly recommended but not required.

All portfolios should be submitted through our online portfolio submissions portal, SlideRoom. All applicants are encouraged to review the Undergraduate Portfolio Requirement prior to submission.

We offer the opportunity for prospective students to observe campus life, talk with faculty and students, and acquaint themselves with Northeastern’s campus and the city of Boston through our Visit Campus programs. Tours for our joint program with School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston are offered though Visit SMFA program.

For questions applicants can contact Northeastern’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions at  admissions@neu.edu or 617-373-2200.
