Hubert Murray has worked as an architect working on projects in the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and for the last 27 years in the United States.
Since 2008 he has been working for Partners HealthCare in Boston as Manager of Sustainable Initiatives, a program for reducing energy, materials consumption and waste throughout the hospital system. In this capacity he was also advisor to the design team for the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in the Charleston Navy Yard on LEED certification and on the longer-term resilience of the building in the event of climate change and sea level rise.
Mr. Murray has written on sea level rise and its potential effects on Boston and has made a number of presentations on the subject – and more broadly on climate adaptation in the built environment – locally and nationally, to architectural, engineering and medical audiences.
Hubert Murray was president of the Boston Society of Architects in 2007 and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
