Angela Shen-Hsieh is a specialist in the emerging fields of data visualization and data user experience. She is currently the managing partner of GroupVisual, a consultancy, which specializes in making Big Data consumable for human beings through the design of data visualization and data-driven user interfaces. Since graduating from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to found several companies based on data visualization products and services.
Angela holds six patents and her companies have designed and built analytic software for some of the biggest companies in the world including GE, Johnson & Johnson, Bristol Myers Squibb, Microsoft and Fidelity as well as many innovative technology startups.
Angela has been named a Master of Design by Fast Company Magazine, and was also profiled by BusinessWeek as one of “10 cutting edge designers pushing the limits of design”. She sits on several not-for-profit boards, including AIGA’s National Board, and speaks frequently about designing for human thinking processes, data visualization and women in technology.
