Welcome to the College of Arts, Media and Design.
Grounded in the core disciplines of Architecture, Art + Design, Communication Studies, Game Design, Journalism, Media and Screen Studies, Music, and Theatre, the College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) is Northeastern’s hub for creativity and entrepreneurship in design, communication, and the arts. We leverage our unique combination of disciplines and the university’s strengths in experiential, interdisciplinary, and global learning to provide a flexible and rigorous academic experience that is unlike anything else.
At CAMD, students imagine and invent their own ways to explore their fields of study—and the world. Our diverse and flexible academic programs offer students an extraordinarily wide range of possibilities to pursue their areas of interest. Paired with experiential opportunities around the globe and Northeastern’s renowned co-op program, students gain an exceptionally deep and well-rounded understanding of their field and the world around them.
Across all disciplines, our outstanding faculty are leaders in their field who collaborate with and mentor students to guide their academic experiences, build critical skills, and cultivate their creative thinking. Our faculty includes world-renowned visual and performing artists, scholars, designers, journalists, leaders from the media industry, and more.
Outside of the classroom, creative inspiration and entrepreneurial opportunities abound. On campus, our students build and lead one-of-a-kind ventures, including our in-house record label, Green Line Records, and our new creative agency, SCOUT. CAMD students regularly win the university’s top prizes for entrepreneurship and innovation.
In addition, the college’s interdisciplinary arts center, Northeastern Center for the Arts, presents collaborative and socially-engaged public programming for the university and surrounding communities. Exhibits at Northeastern’s Gallery 360 regularly include student and faculty artists, and the university’s new public arts initiative promises to bring bold new work to our campus. And, of course, the city of Boston offers some of the finest arts and cultural organizations in the world.
I encourage you to continue exploring our website to learn more about our unique academic programs and our vibrant community. Please contact us with your questions. We look forward to seeing you on campus.
