The following social marketing campaign posters were developed with input and participation by Northeastern University students. Last fall, the initial posters were displayed at an event sponsored by the Institute on Urban Health Research (IUHR) and the Office of Student Affairs (see videos below). Students provided feedback and based on these results the final posters were created (links below). The first two posters present drinking tips for staying safe. The next four posters are based on research that was conducted by the IUHR to learn what Northeastern University students say about the reasons they drink and the negative consequences they experience. The last two posters inform students about alcohol and drug use policies at Northeastern University and consequences of policy violations.
The purpose of this poster campaign is to encourage you to think about how you make decisions about drinking and to promote discussion about student life and alcohol/drug use among students. Take a look at the posters below. Did you learn something new? If you drink, what drinking tips do you follow to stay safe? Were you aware of University policies about drinking and drug use and the potential consequences for your career?
