Year 2:

Clinical rotations are a critical part of your training as a PA. After successfully completing the didactic portion of the program in the first year, you will spend the subsequent 12 months in clinical rotations that include:

  • Ambulatory Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Family Practice Medicine
  • Inpatient Medicine
  • Mental Health
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Pediatrics
  • Surgery
  • Elective

Each rotation lasts 5 weeks. Rotations are assigned at a variety of hospitals and other medical settings. Because of Northeastern's recognized focus on practice-oriented education and the PA Program's longevity and reputation in the field, we can offer you practicum opportunities at the major teaching hospitals in Boston, including:

  • Brigham and Women's Hospital
  • Boston Medical Center
  • Tufts Medical Center
  • Harvard-based medical institutions like Mt. Auburn Hospital

Since we have long-standing relationships with hospitals and supervisors, we are able to place you in rotations. You do not need to find your own placements. Free housing is provided for distant required rotations.
