Early Intervention Requirements

In order to be accepted for admission into the Early Intervention Certification Program at Northeastern University, applicants must meet the following requirements: 

  • Earned bachelor's degree (unless EI program is embedded into undergraduate program)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official transcript(s)
  • Official scores of GRE or MAT tests within last five years
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Experience with linguistically and culturally diverse populations preferred
  • Strong commitment to working with targeted populations after completing program.

The program is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for certification as an Early Intervention Specialist, and is the only approved interdisciplinary program in the state.
