Students, join us for a special event in conjunction with the School of Pharmacy 50th Anniversary Celebration weekend! On Friday, November 2 at 1 p.m. come meet with and listen to distinguished community pharmacist alumni about owning and running community pharmacies today and in the future. Panelist will discuss 340B’s, Compounding and Specialty Pharmacy. After the discussion, network with entrepreneurs. The event will also include the Installation of the NCPA student chapter officers. The weekend of the anniversary Grand Celebration is jam-packed with fun and interesting events for you to enjoy! You can start off your Saturday with free passes to the Museum of Fine Arts or go straight to 140 The Fenway and receive a student-led tour of the School of Pharmacy’s new home. Transportation will be provided.
At 6 PM, head over to the McLeod Suites on the 3rd floor of Curry Student Center for a cocktail reception and poster session. Dinner, presentations, and live entertainment will follow in the Ballroom. Join your fellow classmates in reconnecting with the School of Pharmacy, catching up with old friends and professors, and celebrating the school’s future as well as its history.
The cost of the event is $100.00 per person. Complimentary parking is offered at Columbus Lot, 795 Columbus Avenue. Special hotel rates will be offered for a limited time.

The Webb Lecture Series and the Webb Lecture Award were established by NU in honor of Professor John W. Webb in 1985, a year after his retirement from the College of Pharmacy. The Webb Lecture Award, now sponosred by the American Soiety of Health-Systems Pharmacists, recognizes leadership and management in hospital pharmacy. The award recipient presents an annual keynote address to the ASHP and a lecture at Norheastern.

The School of Pharmacy Class of 2012 and their guests are invited to the Pharmacy Senior Convocation, including a Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, that is being held one day prior to the Northeastern Class of 2012 Graduation at TD Garden in Boston. There will be a keynote speaker, class speaker, and the presentation of several awards. Graduates and attendees are then invited to a reception following the formal ceremony. Northeastern University welcomes the world-renowned Boston Pops with musical guest Jewel to Matthews Arena. In recognition of the 50th Anniversary, pharmacy alumni, students, and parents are welcomed to an exclusive reception at the new home of the School of Pharmacy, 140 The Fenway, prior to the show. Kicking off our year of celebration is our first anniversary event: the 1st Annual Alumni Anniversary Continuing Pharmacy Education Program. Alumni and friends will be welcomed into our new home at the historic 140 The Fenway Building, as we invite them to satisfy continuing education requirements. Five contact hours are offered, including two hours of pharmacy law. Featured alumni presenters will be Mansoor Amiji, Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeastern University, on Academic Research; Ernest Anderson, System Vice President of Pharmacy at Steward Health Care, on Hospital Pharmacy; Karen Horbowicz, Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Northeastern University and Staff Pharmacist at Inman Pharmacy in Cambridge, on Community Pharmacy; and Joanne Trifone, Member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy and Staff Pharmacist at Walgreens in Dorchester, and Todd Brown, Clinical Instructor and Vice Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Northeastern University, on Pharmacy Law. Pharmacy Scholarship and Awards Convocation

Students in their third-sixth years submit their scholarship applications to Professor and Chair Robert Cersosimo and the Scholarship and Awards Committee. General criteria for applicants are academic achievement, quality character, and financial need, as well as other award-specific requirements. The selected students are then invited to the annual Pharmacy Scholarship and Awards Convocation for the presentation of the awards. Some awards are decades old, such as the Dean Constantine Meriano Scholarship Award, Dean Leroy C. Keagle Merit Award, and the John S. Sousa Memorial Award, and others are presented by their corporate sponsors, such as CVS, Rite-Aid, and Walgreens. The ceremony will be held at 11:30 am in the Curry Student Center Ballroom, and the reception will be a buffet luncheon. Any questions should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
