The online RN-to-BSN program allows licensed Registered Nurses the opportunity to advance their nursing career in as few as three semesters. The program consists of an accelerated, innovative new online format and comprehensive curriculum that exposes students to all aspects of nursing leadership.
Participation in the RN-to-BSN program can be part-time or full-time with completion expected within 2 years (six semesters). An unrestricted and active RN license in the state where you will complete clinicals is required for program eligibility.
The online RN-to-BSN program exposes students to the most advanced learning methodologies, the highest caliber instructors, and an in-depth curriculum that sufficiently prepare students for advancement.
The online RN-to-BSN curriculum is designed to promote educational and professional excellence through the use of problem-based learning. All courses are offered online and over 200 subject-specific, custom-designed learning activities are integrated into the online learning environment. Activities, including simulated decision-making, allow students to learn and practice in the comfort of their own home 24/7 so they become confidently prepared for all aspects of leadership.
The RN-to-BSN program consists of sixteen semesterhours of residency credit followed by twenty-nine semester hours of in-depth, advanced nursing courses. Residency courses include Advanced Writing in Health Profession, Microbiology, Bioethics, and Crisis Communication. The advanced nursing component of the curriculum include courses such as Professional Development & Scientific Basis, Computer and Nursing Informatics, Healthcare Research, Managing and Leading in Healthcare, and Capstone Innovations in Nursing Practice.
For clinicals, the program uses a preceptor clinical model that emphasizes clinical competency while preparing the students for leadership and advancement. Clinical hours with a nurse leader in a community or public health setting are required.
