DNP Admissions Requirements

The admissions requirements for the DNP program are as follows:

Admissions Criteria:

  • A Master’s degree in nursing or some cases in related health field
  • Current RN licensure
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in the nursing field
  • GPA in master’s program of 3.5
  • Copies of transcripts for all previous college work
  • Up-to-date resume
  • Personal statement indicating applicant’s personal goals for obtaining a DNP and expectations of the program
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Interview if requested
  • Applicants who do not hold national certification in one of the four APRN roles must provide evidence of the equivalent of 500 practicum hours in previous master's program
