Application Process - Special Student Status

                                     SPECIAL STUDENT APPLICATION
                                    FOR NON-MATRICULATED GRADUATE STUDENTS

Bouvé College of Health Sciences offers students who have not applied to the Graduate School an opportunity to take 12 sh of credit as a Special Student.

  1.  Go to the following web site to review courses that will be offered this semester.

  2. Call 617-373-2708 to schedule an appointment to come to 123 Behrakis Health Sciences Center to register for class.  When you call, please mention the course for which you would like to register since some courses need faculty approval before registration.  We will help you to obtain that approval if it is necessary.

    Appointments for Spring 2010 Registration can be made for the following dates and times:

    1. December 7 - 8, 2009  - 9:30am - 3:00pm
    2. December 14 - 15, 2009 - 9:30am - 3:00pm

  3. On the day of your appointment, you can park in the garage attached to the Behrakis Health Sciences Center.  Tell the attendant you have an appointment with Graduate    Admissions.  Your appointment for registration should not take more than ½ hour.  Please bring the following with you:

    An official transcript showing your BS/BA degree or MS degree.                                  We will accept your diploma if you do not have an official transcript.

    Nursing students must bring evidence of an up to date nursing license.

    Your completed Special Student Application (on which you will list the course/s you want to take). Special Student application

$50 application fee (one time only fee)
Checks should be made out to Northeastern University.  We do take credit cards.  We do not take cash.

Please note that if you want to take courses as a Special Student, certain programs have prerequisites that should be met before you can register for class.

The Pharmaceutical Sciences: Prefers 2 semesters organic chemistry or permission of instructor as a general prerequisite for PSCG100 (Concepts in Pharmaceutical Science).

Speech Language Pathology: One month before the semester starts, e-mail Professor Therese O’Neil-Pirozzi at T.O’Neil-Pirozzi@neu.edu  indicating the course you would like to take as a non-matriculated student in order to receive permission. The e-mail approval from Professor O'Neil Pirozzi should be brought to registration.

Biotechnology PSM Program:  Biotechnology Applications Laboratory (INTG245) and Business of Biotechnology (MGTG219) are only open to students enrolled in the Biotechnology PSM Program.
