Research: Dr. Greenwald researches personality assessment, including experiences and aspects of spirituality, with an emphasis on cross cultural similarities and differences, and shame and its domains in regard to behavior regulation and cultural differences. She has also conducted research on high-risk families, was a consulting editor to the Journal of Personality Assessment, and is the author of numerous articles for professional journals.
