Michael J. Epstein directs the Auditory Modeling and Processing Laboratory (AMPLab). His focus is on bridging the gap between physiological representations of loudness and perceptual loudness in human listeners, improving loudness-measurement methodologies, and expanding loudness modeling to include complex contextual effects.
