Overview

Dr. Sorensen is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Northeastern University with almost 30 years of clinical, academic and leadership experience in nursing. Her career began as an Acute Care Pediatric RN at Boston Children’s Hospital and later transitioned into caring for the pediatric population at home.

She began her academic career as a Clinical Instructor for Northeastern University and taught the Acute Pediatric and Senior Practicum clinicals for over 10 years.

Her extensive leadership experience includes Director of the Clinical Placement Office, Program Director for Undergraduate Programs, and Interim Assistant Dean, all at Northeastern University, School of Nursing.

Additionally, Dr. Sorensen has taught didactic courses throughout the undergraduate curriculum including Health Assessment I and II, Influences on Health and Illness, Acute Care of the Child, Managing and Leading, and Comprehensive Senior Practicum. She currently serves as the current NUSNA Faculty Advisor.
