Christie J. Rizzo, Associate Professor of Applied Psychology, earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She completed her internship in Clinical Psychology at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School and her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies (CAAS) at Brown University.   Dr. Rizzo was previously employed as a staff psychologist at Rhode Island Hospital and Assistant Director for the Juvenile Mental Health Clinic at the Rhode Island Family Court. Currently, Dr. Rizzo maintains an appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Dr. Rizzo’s research focuses on romantic relationship risk behaviors among adolescents (dating violence, sexual risk taking), with a particular focus on vulnerable youth such as those involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
