For Positions Grades 9-14 and below funded in a grant or operating budget
A. Posting
*Confirmation required from College Dean for permission to replace vacancy or for new positions in operating budgets*
If new position begin at Step 1:
1. Create a Job Scope Description and send to HR Compensation for review. Copy for Jacie Lavallee. Request a grade and job code for the type of position you are looking to fill. They will respond to your request via e-mail. Fill out and e-mail the Position Add/Change form to HR-Payroll Service Center/NEU to request a position number. (c.c. Jacie Lavallee)
2. You will receive an e-mail from Human Resources with your position number. Print out for your own record and reference the number for the Recruiting and Posting Request Form. (See Step 3)
If a replacement begin at Step 3:
3. Complete the Recruiting and Posting Request form
4. Jacie creates posting in PeopleSoft and obtains the requisition/posting number. Jacie transfers ownership of the requisition to initiator, giving access to manage/review applications.
5. Print out the job posting from the web for future reference and remit with completed hire packet to Jacie.
B. E-Recruit

1. Initiator monitors and manages all applications. Every candidate MUST apply online using Careers at Northeastern.
2. Interview Candidates.
3. Once finalist is identified, print a copy of the online employment application and electronic resume to include in the new hire packet.
- Note: If finalist requires work authorization assistance, immediately contact ISSI or NU Counsel to initiate.
4. Transfer requisition back to Jacie to begin new hire processing.
- When discussing a start date with the finalist, consult with Jacie to ensure adequate time is allowed for approvals and offer/appointment letter.
