Scientists Determine Design of Optimal Cationic Lipids A study by Volkmar Weissig, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and his collaborator Richard Horobin of Glasgow University will make the design of more efficient non-viral transfection vectors for gene therapy possible (Journal of Gene Medicine, 2005 Aug; 7(8):1023-34).

NU Awarded $4.84 Million by NCI and NSF A $3.3 million grant will establish integrative training environments for science and engineering doctoral students to focus on interdisciplinary nanoscience and technology research with applications to cancer. Vice Provost for Research Srinivas Sridhar is principal investigator and director of the program. Mansoor Amiji, Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences is associate director.
Mansoor Amiji received a $1.54 million grant titled "Nanotherapeutic Strategy for Multidrug Resistant Tumors."

NU Student Wins ISPE Poster Competition Representing the Boston Student Chapter of ISPE, Bhawna Gupta won the graduate level International Student Poster Competition at the Society's annual meeting. Bhawna is advised by Vladimir Torchilin, Distinguished Professor and Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
