Dates and travel

Currently, the tentative dates for the program are Thurs. May 16- Sun. June 23. Dates will be finalized after registration is complete and airline tickets are purchased.

The travel-weary but excited group upon our landing in Denpasar.

All students must travel together from either Boston or New York to Bali and stay until the program end date on June 23.  Please make sure that you are able to work around any other obligations you may have in your schedule to travel on the established dates.  Travel arrangements from Boston will be made for all program participants after the final roster is established.

If students would like to travel independently after the Dialogue, either in Bali or elsewhere in the world, they may arrange a different return flight to the US once program participants are selected.  Students are responsible for any additional airfare beyond the cost of returning to Boston on the scheduled return date, and they will not be under the supervision or care of Dialogue faculty or associates for any remaining time spent in Bali.  Students must communicate any alternate travel plans with the faculty director (Julie Strand) no later than DEC. 15, 2012.

Hindu Temple in Ubud

Ubud and Pengosekan village

We will be staying in the cultural center of Ubud, Bali, approximately one hour north of the capital city of Denpasar.  Known as the focal point of performing arts in Bali, Ubud and the neighboring village of Pengosekan will be our home base during the Dialogue.  Daily gamelan and dance lessons will take place in Pengosekan, and we will explore all that the Ubud area has to offer during our stay.  We will also take occasional excursions to other villages around the island to observe performances and see the diversity of culture that Bali has to offer.
