Student Co-op Awards

In 1971, the University established the Cooperative Education Awards to spotlight outstanding seniors in the co-op program. Selected from all undergraduate colleges by co-op faculty coordinators, the recipients are honored at an annual ceremony.

McMahon Award

McMAHON AWARD Dean McMahon will long be remembered as a warm and caring individual who was always ready to lend a helping hand or attentive ear to students and staff alike who sought out his counsel and support. Accordingly, the award which bears his name is presented annually to a senior in the human service professions who in the course of his/her Cooperative Education work has demonstrated exceptional integrity and character combined with a high degree of devotion and commitment to serving the needs of fellow human beings.

Pratt Award

PRATT AWARD Dean Pratt epitomizes the philosophy of Cooperative Education. He participated in the Co-op program as a civil engineering student, went on to become a Cooperative Education Coordinator, and rose to become Dean of the Cooperative Education Department. Dean Pratt truly believes that Co-op makes a significant contribution to a student’s academic preparation. Accordingly, the award which bears his name will be presented annually to a senior student who demonstrated exceptional personal and professional growth as a result of their Co-op experiences.
