Time: 8:30am - 4:30pm
Course Coordinator: Prof. B. F. Spencer, Jr.
- Nathan M. and Anne M. Newmark Endowed Chair of Civil Engineering
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
This short course, held just prior to ANCRiSST'09, will cover the state-of-the-art in wireless smart sensor technologies and potential applications. Participants will learn how to use smart sensors to make high-fidelity measurements synchronously, transfer the data without loss, and accomplish in-network data processing. Demonstrations and hands-on experiments will include dynamic testing of a scale-model structure and associated on-board analysis, providing the participants with significant experience in smart sensor applications for civil infrastructure.
