Florence Gattacceca Pharm D, Ph D
She is currently a Visiting Scientist. She has been a tenured Assistant Professor in Pharmacokinetics, in the Pharmacochemistry and Biomolecules Group, School of Pharmacy, Montpellier 1 University, France since 2007. She received her Pharm. D. (2001) in Paris V University (France), and her Ph.D.(2004) in Toxicology at Paris XII University (France). She completed her postdoctoral training at the Center for Research in Oncobiology and Oncopharmacology in the School of Pharmacy of Marseille (France). The connecting thread of her research interests is cancer, which she tries to address by understanding pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of innovative therapies, including Imiqualines (a new chemical series developed by her group in Montpellier) and more recently nanocarrier-mediated agents.
Faryal is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Northeastern University, with an interest in oncology and cancer therapeutics. At the present, she is working on a project focused on targeting diverse anticancer drugs to tumors using functionalized hyaluronan macrostructures.
