Events & News Compass Awards Established in 2007, the Office of Alumni Relations is proud to present the Compass Awards, our signature student awards program. Each spring this program recognizes eight outstanding students from the senior class who, during their time on campus, have demonstrated a true commitment to the core set of values listed below.
Importantly, the Compass Awards program also brings together outstanding student leaders with notable alumni from our Husky family. Past Outstanding Alumni Award recipients and/or current alumni leaders will serve as presenters at the ceremony, as well as long-term mentors to the student recipients -- a great example of how the Northeastern experience can continue to flourish after graduation. 2008 Award Recipients
Wendy Breen Klein Award: Caitlin Castracane '08 Nominations Nominations for the Compass Awards are submitted by each Dean's Office, the Vice President of Student Affairs, and members of the Office of Alumni Relations' staff. One senior from each of Northeastern's seven undergraduate colleges will be recognized, as well as one student who is identified through the Office of Alumni Relations' regular interactions with student leaders. Ceremony Information The 2008 Compass Awards ceremony will be coupled with a networking reception on April 1, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Alumni Center (by invitation only). Wendy Breen Kline Award In addition to the Compass Awards, the Wendy Breen Kline Award will also be presented. Established in 1997, this award is named in honor of the late Wendy Breen Kline, BB'84, PAH'88, pas president of the Alumni Association. Wendy provided outstanding and compassionate leadership as a student and as an alumna. Program History This program evolved from the Professional Promise Awards, a past model that was successfully established and implemented by the Alumni Association Board for several years.
