Nov. 18, 2006, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by an informal lunch

is holding its first Labor and Employment Law Conference
for graduates and other practitioners in the field.

The
Making of a Civil Rights Lawyer
Join distinguished professor and former
dean Michael Meltsner for a book reading and signing of
his highly acclaimed new memoir, The Making of a Civil
Rights Lawyer, which encompasses his experiences as
a civil rights attorney during the 1960s.
As one of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund's top lawyers,
Meltsner worked with such notables as Thurgood Marshall
and William Kuntsler and represented Muhammad Ali in his
attempt to get his boxing license restored by the state
of New York.

Loan Deferral and Forgiveness Program
The School of Law is accepting applications for its 2007
Loan Deferral and Forgiveness Program (LDF).
To submit an application, please refer to the 2007
Guidelines and Application. The first round application
deadline is October 31, 2006.
This critical program has issued more than $2 million
to 370 graduates employed in the public interest sector
over the past 17 years.
