Reunion Weekend 2008
From the Catch the Spirit! event at Fenway Park through Northeastern Night at the Pops, there was something for everyone who returned to Huntington Avenue for Reunion Weekend on May 9-10.
Hundreds of Northeastern University alumni and their families, faculty and staff, and friends of the University gathered for a weekend chock full with activities for alums young and old.
“This is a perfect opportunity to welcome many of our alumni back to campus and offer them a great selection of programs,” said Jack Moynihan, MPA’93, Vice President of Alumni Relations and The Northeastern Fund. “This campus and the University have changed tremendously over the years and it’s great to be able to show it off, but at the same time see some familiar sights.”
The weekend kicked off on Friday, May 9 with Catch the Spirit! reception in the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park. More than 150 alumni and their guests enjoyed an evening of musical entertainment, mingling, and an opportunity to have their photo taken with the 2004 World Series trophy.
Back on campus, in the award-winning Alumni Center, more than 80 alumni and their guests partook in the 45th Reunion Dinner, giving members of the Class of 1963 an opportunity to catch up with old friends.
On Saturday, a pair of campus walking tours gave alums a chance to see how much the campus has changed over the years, while tours of Boston movie locations and of Symphony Hall were also offered. After a barbeque lunch on the beautiful Centennial Commons, alumni and friends attended the Pop Goes Reunion! reception in the Alumni Center before heading over to Symphony Hall for the 13th annual Northeastern Night at the Pops.
