Frost/Nixon Event Recap

On Friday, February 6, about 70 Northeastern alumni, family, and friends of the University, gathered at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant to enjoy a dinner reception before heading over to the Colonial Theatre to catch a production of the critically-acclaimed play, Frost/Nixon.

The reception featured great Italian food including pasta, salad, antipasto, and desserts. Before leaving for the show, guests were treated to a short talk by Professor Robert Gilbert of the Department of Political Science. His thoughtful remarks about Richard Nixon and the presidency provided the perfect context for Frost/Nixon, which tells the story of Nixon’s eventual apology to the American people through his 1977 interview with British journalist David Frost.

Frost/Nixon, which stars Stacy Keach as Nixon and Alan Cox as Frost, wrapped up its engagement at the Colonial on Sunday, February 8.

The next event in the Office of Alumni Relations’ ArtsAlive! series, Dirty Dancing, at The Opera House in Boston on Friday, March 6, is sold out.

On Saturday, March 28, the ArtsAlive! series continues with Vox Lumiere at the Cutler Majestic Theatre. The one-of-a-kind experience offers a riveting, multi-dimensional program that combines the power of live music and dance performance with the backdrop of a silent film – The Hunchback of Notre Dame – alongside a state-of-the-art multi-media show.

The program will include a pre-show reception at MJ O’Connor’s Irish Pub and an optional backstage tour. Tickets to the reception and show are $46 each, with the backstage tour available for an additional $5.
