Student Alumni Association
This student organization helps create and contribute to the goals of Northeastern by developing strong volunteer leaders, exposing alumni to our exceptional students, and sharing the benefits of alumni involvement.
Organization
The SAA is organized by an Executive Board and various committees. The Executive Board meets on a weekly basis as a group as well as individually with their Advisor in the Office of Alumni Relations. The variety of committees creates a variety of opportunities for members to be involved in ways that are meaningful to them.
Events
Throughout the year, SAA sponsors programs and events which help members reach their leadership potential while achieving the goals of the organization.
Alumni are always invited to SAA events, programs, and community service projects. Please just let us know if you’re interested in attending so that we can make appropriate accommodations.
Homecoming:
During this week of Husky Pride, SAA sponsors the “Mayor of Huntington Avenue,” the Homecoming Comedian, and participates in other events such as the parade, and banner competition.
Bringing Cheer:
SAA annually reaches out to families in need during the holidays. SAA gives children and their parents a night of fun with games, presents, and wonderful holiday treats!
Association of Student Advancement Programs:
Each year, SAA travels to a District and National Conference to spend a weekend networking with other Student Alumni Associations from around New England and the country.
5 Under 25:
SAA coordinates a panel series for each College that highlights recent alumni success stories and their experiences at Northeastern. During this event current students will have the opportunity to ask questions and get more information about careers and industries.
Husky Hugs:
A new program for 2007, Husky Hugs is dedicated to bringing a smile to children in the Boston area. SAA will ask members of the Northeastern community to purchase teddy bears and donate them to our office so that we can distribute them among local children charities during the Holiday season.
