Presidents and the Women in their Lives
presented by Dr. Gerry Gawalt, AS'65
Dr. Gawalt is the
former Historian and Curator of Presidential Papers at the Library of Congress. He is the author and compiler of two recent books on the lives of the First Families. They are, First Daughters: Letters between U.S. Presidents and Their Daughters (2004), and My Dear President: Letters between Presidents and Their Wives (2005). Of the 44 men who have served as President of the United States, all but one was married and of those, 33 had daughters. Gerry will offer a fascinating glimpse into the very unique and fascinating relationships between our Presidents and the women in their lives.

Career Networking Night
Alumni and Co-op students enjoyed a great night of networking. Panelists, Mr. Garvey McIntosh, AS'94, Mr. Michael Frisby, AS'77, Mr. Jack Lichtenstein, MPA'75, and Ms. Jane Wishneff, AS'01 led by moderator, Joe Lillis, AS'93 shared their experiences and described the paths that led them to our nation's capital.

Boston Red Sox at Washington Nationals
Alumni and baseball fans met at Molly Malone's Capitol Hill Saloon for some pre-game food and networking and then headed over to Nationals Park to watch the Orioles take on the Boston Red Sox.

Men's Basketball at George Mason Pre-game Party and Game
Alumni and basketball fans gathered at Brion's Grille to gear up to cheer on their Huskies before they played George Mason in Fairfax. The Huskies fell to the Patriots 53-64.
