Testbed T5: Video Analytics-Based Anomaly Detection
Testbed T5 is based at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The objective of this testbed is the detection of suspicious, anomalous, irregular behavior in realistic, crowded indoor/urban scenarios. The long range aim is that T5 will be a large-scale, reconfigurable testbed for research in camera networks, surveillance, tracking, activity detection and crowd motion.
In Year 2, 12 ceiling-mounted fixed-focus network cameras were placed in an indoor tracking testbed. This is a 50x40x30 ft3 reconfigurable studio. The current capabilities of this testbed include intrinsic and extrinsic camera calibration, a full-floor real-time blended mosaic, and preliminary real-time people tracking. Year 3 proposed testbed work includes: Large-scale environment mock-ups (e.g. airport security screening lines), real-time multiobject tracking, automatic object-to-person association, and change and anomaly detection.
