The Northeastern AIAS is an organization born of your effort, enthusiasm and dedication. There are many ways to contribute to the AIAS, not only to help yourself become a better architect and student but also to help the organization grow and stay true to your interests. The best thing that you can do is to join and get involved!
Volunteer in your community
Freedom by Design™, the AIAS community service program, utilizes the talents of architecture students to radically impact the lives of people in their community through modest design and construction solutions. Our priority is improving the safety, comfort and dignity of the home’s occupants.
Through numerous AIAS chapters, Freedom by Design™ (FBD) teaches students how to resolve accessibility issues while simultaneously providing them with the real world experience of working with a client, mentorship from a local architect and constructor, and an understanding of the practical impact of architecture and design. You are invited to get involved. The AIAS is seeking mentors and supporters to help us grow this important program. Please help us better the lives of those in need.

Architecture majors have it tough...and we're not even talking x-acto injuries yet.
Introducing the Northeastern University AIAS Mentoring program. Incoming freshman and seasoned architecture upperclassmen will form mentor groups where students can bounce ideas off one another, get advice on modelmaking, or just find that rare store that's still open at 1AM. While everyone will receive a mentor, it will be your choice as to whether or not you'll take full advantage of the program and use it as a resource. Just remember: acetone/ nail polish remover is your best friend lest you accidentally super glue yourself to your model...
