Future of AIAA

Northeastern’s chapter of AIAA was formed on the basis that any interested student could learn and build aeronautical and astronautical prototypes. This is the backbone of our club.

Everything we do is independent of Northeastern’s curriculum. Our work is not a requirement, but for our own edification. Members come to the laboratory after class and tirelessly collaborate on projects such as high altitude rockets, weather balloons, and UAV’s.

We have an insatiable desire to push the boundaries of our previous accomplishments. Our next endeavors are always in mind. We will build and fly Northeastern University’s first satellite. We will develop the technology to control a rocket’s descent, providing us with the unique ability of choosing a landing site. We will develop self guided UAV’s that assist in retrieval of lost rockets and monitor high altitude experiments. We will fly a weather balloon to the edge of the stratosphere.

Engineers and scientists live to solve tough problems; we have done so in the past and will continue to find solutions to greater barriers in the future. We don’t feel any of these projects are too big, too complex, or too hard. Our members have shown the type of dedication needed to achieve such goals.

We believe in the future of air and space travel.

We want to be a part of the new space race.

We will play a lead role in the future of aeronautics and astronautics.

Onward.
