Transfer Students
What We Look For
Each year, we receive more than 2,500 transfer applications for 550 places. Transfer applicants are defined as students that have attempted at least 12 semester hours of credit (or the equivalent in quarter hours or units) after high school graduation.
Our most successful transfer applicants have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Candidates must be in good standing and must be eligible to continue in the institution they are currently attending.
Our review process is selective and personal. We understand that transfer students come from a wide range of backgrounds, and therefore, we consider the following factors as well:
Standardized Tests
SAT and/or ACT scores are required if a student has completed fewer than 24 semester hours of college-level credit.
Personal Statement/Essay
All applicants are required to submit a 300- to 600-word essay selected from the questions listed on the application.
Recommendations
Recommendations from two professors, academic advisers, or employers help us learn more about you as a student. We are looking for students who are responsible, independent, good citizens, self-aware, and active participants in their education.
*Transfer students are required to apply to a specific college and major and cannot be reviewed for undecided or open options.
