Scholarships

Northeastern has established several competitive scholarship programs to reward outstanding academic achievement. 

To be considered for one or more of these prestigious awards, you must apply for undergraduate admission to Northeastern no later than the regular decision deadline of January 15. Only fall freshman applicants may be considered for most of these scholarships.

Carl S. Ell Scholarships
Top one percent of freshman applicants may be considered for this award. Full tuition, campus room and board (double occupancy). 

Ralph J. Bunche Scholarships
Top one percent of freshman applicants may be considered for this award. Full tuition, campus room and board (double occupancy).

Reggie Lewis Memorial Scholarships
Top two percent of freshman applicants may be considered for this award. Full tuition.

Deans Awards
Top 10-15 percent of freshman applicants may be considered for this award. In  2007-2008, students received up $16,000 per year.

Excellence and Achievement Awards
Top 10-15 percent of freshman applicants may be considered for this award. In  2007-2008, students received up to $10,000 per year. 

Boston Public High School Scholarships
Freshman applicants from any of Boston's public high schools who are in the top 10 percent of their class and nominated by their school are considered.  Twenty scholarships awarded annually. Full tuition, campus room (double occupancy), and board.

International Deans Scholarships
Top international applicants may be considered for partial tuition, merit-based scholarships. Academic performance and personal characteristics. Academic performance and personal characteristics are taken into consideration.

Torch Scholarships 
Freshman applicants who are nominated by an educational professional, such as a guidance counselor, are considered. Candidates will have faced significant personal, educational, and/or socioeconomic disadvantages or hardships that have prevented them from reaching their full academic potential. Torch Scholars are students who may not qualify for admission based on past academic performance but who clearly demonstrate other personal qualities indicative of their ability to succeed at Northeastern. The scholarship includes a Summer Immersion Program prior to freshman year, full tuition, room and board.
