
Northeastern's supplement can only be submitted on-line through your Common Application account. When you create your profile and select Northeastern as one of the schools you are applying to, you will then be prompted to fill out the on-line supplement. We do not require an additional essay. Secondary school transcripts including senior-year first quarter and midterm grades when available. If you have been out of high school for more than one year, you must send a current version up to date.
Official SAT or ACT(with writing) results (Northeastern's CEEB College Code is 3667 / ACT College Code is 1880) November test scores will be considered for early action candidates if received by December 1; January test scores for regular decision candidates if received by February 15.
For applicants applying from outside the United States, SAT or ACT scores are optional, but recommended. Applicants who attend a high school in the U.S., or student athletes who must meet NCAA eligibility requirements, are required to submit their official SAT or ACT results.

Early Action candidates should send their first-term grades as soon as they are available.
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) recipients should provide their official GED score reports and their most complete high school transcript.
Home schooled applicants should submit the Home School Supplement located on the Common Application website, an academic portfolio/transcript consistent with their state guidelines, and a list of all textbooks used. They must also provide proof that they will have met by the end of May of the year of graduation all requirements for an official high school diploma and submit an official final transcript, a GED, or a certificate of completion from your local school district or state board of education by the end of July of the year of matriculation. Home-schooled students must submit the ACT with Writing exam or the SAT with Writing. In addition, they must submit two SATII Subject Tests, one test in Mathematics and an additional Subject Test of their choice. Students who are applying for science-based majors should take a Science Subject Test as their second exam. Applicants into the College of Engineering must take the Physics Subject Test as their second exam.
Non-traditional Grading Policy. Students who attend schools where narrative evaluations are used instead of traditional letter grades are required to submit the narratives to complete their applications. In the case of which do not provide traditional letter grades or narrative evaluations, applicants must submit SAT/ACT exam scores (with the Writing section) and two SAT II subject tests, including mathematics and an additional subject test of their choice. Students who are applying for science-based majors should take a science subject test. Applicants to the College of Engineering must take the physics subject test.
If English is not your first/native language, you are required to provide proof of English language proficiency. This requirement can be satisfied with a score of 84 or better on the internet-based TOEFL exam (iBT) or with an SAT Critical Reading score of 550 or better. It may also be satisfied if the student has attended a US high school for all four years and has not taken any ESL courses during this period.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any test scores are submitted directly to Northeastern University by the testing service.

Proof of English language proficiency is for students whose native language is not English. You are required to submit: TOEFL -passing score of 223 on the computer-based test, 563 on the paper based test, 84 on the Internet -based test with the following TOEFL minimum subscores of Reading 19, Listening 19, Speaking 22 and Writing 20, or a passing score of 6.5 with no subscores bands below 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This requirement is waived if you’re SAT critical reading score /ACT equivalent is at least 550. It is your responsibility to ensure that your test scores are either submitted directly to Northeastern by the testing service or are included on your official high school transcript.
