Title:

Internet Port Activation

Purpose:

To explain to faculty and staff how to obtain an additional data port for NuNet/Internet access in a University-owned office.

POLICY:

Full-time faculty and staff members at Northeastern are provided with one active port to the Internet, port "B" In their offices. Faculty and staff are able to activate additional ports within their offices by filling out a NUnet Post-Installation Move, Add or Change Budget Transfer Authorization form.

PROCEDURE:

Activating an Additional Internet Port

1.Call the IS Help Line at (617) 373-4357(xHELP) or visit www.inforservices.neu.edu to access the NUnet Post-Installation Move, Add or Change Budget Transfer Authorization form. Complete the form by providing the following information:

  • Department Name
  • Budget Account Number
  • Quad number and port you would like to activate
  • 2. Fax the completed form back to the IS Help Desk at (617) 373-5985.

    Installation & Relocation of Data Communications Outlets

    The cost of relocating a data communications outlet within an office involves contracted labor expenses. Please contact the IS Help Line with your request at (617) 373-4357(xHELP).
