PURPOSE: To define the University's personal work policy.

SCOPE: Entire University community.

POLICY:

1. When delegating and assigning projects and work activities to staff, managers, and supervisors need to be mindful of the principal role of staff in supporting the teaching, research, administrative, and professional activities of the University community.

2. Staff should not be required to perform personal service tasks except where inherent in the position and clearly defined in the position description. Examples of such tasks may include, but are not limited to, arrangements for personal family activities, purchasing personal gifts, running personal errands, and so on.
